LADINO
Yo m’enamori d’un aire, ah—
ENGLISH
I fell in love with the charms,
D’un aire de una mujer, The charms of a woman,
D’una mujer muy ermoza Of a very beautiful woman,
Linda de mi korasón. Darling of my heart.
La la la…. Tra la la….
Yo m’enamori de noche, ah— I fell in love at night,
El lunar ya m’enganyó. The moonlight was my undoing.
Si esto era de diya, If it were daylight,
Yo no atava amor. Love would not have bound me.
Si otra vez yo m’enamoro, ah— If I ever fall in love again,
D’un aire d’una mujer, With the charms of a woman,
D’una mujer muy ermoza, Of a very beautiful woman,
Linda de mi korasón. Darling of my heart,
Seya de diya kun el sol. It will be by day, in the sunshine.

Description
This romantic song was probably composed in the early 20th century, and, like a significant portion of the Sephardic repertoire, it is entirely secular in nature, with nothing particularly Jewish in character. It has the flavor of Spain, at least in this arrangement.
