Before Trio Sefardi there was La Rondinella, a group with which Tina and Howard performed and recorded in the late 80s and early 90s. On Saturday, May 5, at 7:30 p.m., the members of La Rondinella will reunite for a concert celebrating the 25th anniversary of the founding of the ensemble and the recent release of a CD entitled Sephardic Songs: An Anthology. Selections on the anthology were taken from the group’s three commercially released CDs on the Dorian label. On May 5 the group will perform Sephardic favorites along with some instrumental music from the Spanish Renaissance. In addition to Tina and Howard, the group includes vocalist Alice Kosloski, recorder player Paul Bensel, and bowed string player Rosalind Brooks Stowe.

The concert takes place in the Takoma Park (Maryland) Community Center at the corner of Maple and Philadelphia Avenue (Rt. 410, East-West Highway). Admission is free, donations encouraged ($15/10 seniors, students). A reception and CD signing will follow the concert.
