Words and music by Flory Jagoda
We performed this song frequently in concerts with Flory, and it’s on her “Arvoliko” CD. Flory always encouraged the audience to join in on songs with singable choruses, such as “Ke ripozemos en Shabat” (we rest on the Sabbath) in this song, and she urged them to sing loudly and joyously. While we are not quite sure when this song was composed, we think it was one that we helped her bring to life in the early 2000s; it’s likely that the scale in 6ths that ends each verse was something that came to us in rehearsal when we first practiced the song with Flory.
